The pie chart below shows how electricity is used in an average English home.
(Cambridge IELTS 4, page 54)

The pie chart illustrates a typical average usage of electricity in an ordinary English home.
The largest amount of energy which is 52.5% is used on heating rooms and water. The reason why over half of the electricity is used in heating, is because of the irregular change in British weather. In comparison to others European countries where their weather in summer raised above 25 degree Celsius, the UK weather bearing passed above 20 degree. Therefore, other countries use least electricity than any normal house in summer.
The second biggest usage of typical British electricity is on kitchen appliances such as ovens, kettles and washing machines, account for 17.5% of household energy.
Half of the remaining 30% of electricity is used on the most essential appliances such as lighting of the whole house, television to our entertainment and radios to listening to music, which are part of our day to day life. The other half of the 30% of energy is used on appliances like vacuum cleaners, food mixers and electric tools are used on a weekly basic.

As it is commonly understood nowdays that most countries are emitting a lot of CO2 in the atmosphere, which is damaging layers of ozone. Pression are on governments, as they have been urged by G4 members, to cut down the amount of pollution their countries are making in the air. It is believed every heads of state should try to introduce diverse sources of energy. This will be done by taking into account the use of wind plant, nuclear and solar power station.

One of the main reason governments should promote the use of alternative method of energy is for instance, it will reduce the acceleration of global warming and could help the future generation on the earth. Moreover, it could contribute to a large number of populations living in the dessert and the Antarctic to remain in their regions instead to move to other crowded part of the planet and still able to make end meet.

I believed a small number of people will be against the idea of changing the type of energy, because they will not want governments to build nuclear power station because of the great danger it represent when things do not go according to plan. Another reason for this opposition could be the damage wind plants cause to the scenery of the region, as they change the view of the nature.

At first, the government will find some difficulties to convince the population to use modern source of energy such as solar power and wind plant. However, after many years elapsed from the introduction day, the society will finally embrace it.

Whether or not it is better for governments in today’s world to look for alternative sources of energy is a debatable issue and there are both pros and cons for each side. In my opinion, I agree that it is more beneficial and cost-effective to state leaders to find more sustainable energy resources.
The need for other clean and viable energy supply to replace the current fossil fuel source become indispensable. Firstly, this traditional way of generating electricity and run the machines is polluting our plant by generating high concentration of carbon dioxide, therefore making a worried climate changes and greenhouse gas emission. Secondly, the fossil fuel is non-renewable and forecast expected that in the near future it may run out. Finally, there is a shortage of energy supply in most of the countries in the world, so this deficiency should be addressed by looking for other routes.
On the other hand, there are some concerns about a suitable alternative and renewable energy. To mention at the beginning, the most reliable substitute is nuclear plant, which is very expensive, to clarify more, billions of dollars are needed to establish a nuclear facility. Then, nuclear waste disposal and accidents are extremely dangerous and the memorable example was the explosion of Chernobyl disaster in 1990s.
To sum-up, it is true that world leaders have to look for a secure energy source. Nevertheless, this choice costly, difficult and not free of complications
