Nicotine Addiction in Children

In a recent survey conducted in this country, it was found that up to 20% of twelve year-olds in some schools were showing early signs of nicotine addiction. In the eighteen to twenty year age bracket the percentage was as high as 70%. A large contributing factor to this high level of addiction is attributed to the uncensored TV advertising of cigarettes. For this reason all cigarette advertising should be banned. Discuss. Write at least 250 words.

Cigarettes are one of the most addictable drugs, even myself knows that, because I was a smoker for about 5 years. I quit smoking in October 2008. I started to smoke in my young years, I was about 14 years old. In these first days I didn’t smoke a lot, but there was a slightly increase. I started smoking because it was cool and forbidden. My friends and me shared our cigarettes and smoke in hidden. About 2 years later I found myself smoking between 10 and 20 cigarettes per day. I wasn’t proud about that, but I thought the cigarettes gaves me inner peace. But, I’m glad that I’ve this addiction behind me.

I agree with that the cigarette advertising should be banned, but I don’t really think that will change much. Of course, a few will never start smoke or will quit smoking. I believe, that a price increasment would be more effective. In Switzerland, the cigarettes are much cheaper than in the UK, for a package with twenty cigarettes you’ve to pay just about £3.50. In Switzerland, there is no TV advertising but there a big placards and cinema advertising.

From my point of view, in England is it shame to smoke and in Clubs, Pub and Train Stations is It forbidden to smoke. On the other side, in Switzerland you can nearly can smoke everywhere, that’s why there are much more smokers in Switzerland than in the UK.

Based on these facts, the most effectives way to keep the kids from starting smoking away is that you ban the cigarettes away from the leisure places.

There are a considerable number of surveys which describe smoking side effects, so governments perform policies to attenuate the number of smoking between children, such as band smoking in pups, popular places or advertisement in TV. The point is young generations create the future and addicted parents produce addicted children.
Cigarettes’ advertisements directly present a bad habit between young generations, immediately. In addition, uncensored programmes which reveal celebrities smokers, encourage them to smoke. For example, a child or young person when sees his loyal person smoke, he/she wants too.
The next point is movies which are sponsored by some companies result in advertising of cigarettes in TV. Thus I think commercial in TV is unlimited aspect regards to smoking and children.
I believe governments should prohibit advertisements of cigarettes directly and in directly, because its side effects expend a high level of money which compared with benefits of commercial.
In conclusion, cigarettes addiction between young generations might be limited by avoiding its advertisement which influences population’s habit. In addition, censored programme of cigarettes in TV could protect new generation from reluctant addiction.

It is really very alarming that so many youn people smoking cigarettes, but in my opinion if all cigarette advertising would be banned situation would not have change.

Nowadays a lot of companies are promoting their products in TV, newspapers or radios because it is the way how they try to sell their products, but it does not give them a guarantee that they will earn a lot of money.

A common opinion is that cigarette advertisig should be banned because it would decrease percentage of smoking teenagers. Of course it could be true in some way, but in my point of view if someone want to smoke then would do it without watching cigarette advertising.

I think that media have quiet big influence for public opinion, but still not enough big to telling them what to do.

Moreover, cigarette bussineses have the same rights to promote their products just like other companies. In this situationgovernment should start doing more to reduse so high percentage of smoking teenagers. They already have changed the law and now the minimum age to buy cigarettes is 18, but it still did not change anything. Perhaps they could put bigger penalties for selling assistants who selling cigarettes people under 18 without checking their ID.

In conclusion, I tend to believe that even if advertising of cigarettes would be banned percentage of smoking teenagers woud not have decrease.

Studies show that cigarette advertisement increases the consumption of the all tobacco products. Those adverts have a significant bad influence on vulnerable groups such as children who are between twelve to twenty years old.

It is often said that tobacco is a deadly product. Manually it kills millions of people around the world. According to the some surveys and by 2020 tobacco will be responsible for the death of more than 7 millions people. Tobacco companies spend hundred millions pound on advertisement. Which this amount of money could be spending on the researches to find a cure of cancer which is cause by cigarette. Therefore, there is no doubt that cigarette adverts should strictly be banned.

My personal view is biased on the fact that, although the adverts are banned in this country, smoking cigarette is still popular among young people. Why? Because we all are watching other country’s broadcasting on the satellite and sky TV such us USA where they still advertise it. It seems to me that only the worldwide ban on it can end this fatal habit.

Smoking cigarette is extremely addictive. However increased advertising of cigarette was found to significantly increase sales of cigarette products.

I agree with that, the cigarette advertising should be banned. As a result, cigarette made from chimecal substances that make it deadly. For example, cigarette use by pregnant women has also been shown to cause birth defects, which include mental and physical disability.

On the other hand, the cigarette advertising should be banned. One reason for this is,smoking has a health hazard and smokers are more exposed to heart diseases, lung cancer, asthma also it has bad effect on the skin as campared with non smoker.

In my personal view, who are between twelve to twenty years old,who started smoking were influenced by friends or relatives but not by advertisements.

Cigarette smokers has actually slowly increased over the years. The new research shows, that there is an average increase of smoker every year.So there are lots of smoker people in the UK.I thinkin in the UK smoker women exceed than the men and youth.

I belive, that a price increasment would be more effective. As I said before there are lots of smoker people in the UK than other countries. As I know in our country Afghanistan cigarette not very expensive. The immediate cause of this, there is no tax on cigarette.that is why it sold very cheape.

Cigarette consumption in the UK has increased rapidly in recent years. It is no suprise, that young people addictable to cigarette. In cause of this problem the cigarette advertising should be banned because we must stop children from becoming addicted to cigarette.

I am against any cigarette advertising on TV and I know direct cigarette advertising on TV is banned in the UK; however there is still a popular trend amongst young UK people to smoke. Talking specifically about UK advertising on TV; although, direct cigarette advertising has been banned there still is a lot of indirect advertising of cigarettes. By indirect advertising I mean celebrities, statesperson and other public figures that are shown smoking, this can influence many to copy. There is even smoking shown in popular cartoons such as The Flintstones, Scooby-Doo and Tom & Jerry; where for example Tom who attempts to win the heart of his chosen one, is smoking a cigar; this can contribute to young children being provoked into smoking.

In my opinion the ban of direct TV advertising of cigarettes in the UK is correct but more can be done with regards to indirect TV advertisement. The media across the globe has incredible power to influence the population’s opinion and we should use it and channel it in the right way. World celebrities can play a major role and should say “smoking is not fashionable anymore!” and even make fun of smokers through films, programmes and advertisements. Serious advertisement is also essential; some anti-smoking advertisements were banned in the UK because they scared the young television audience; but I encourage these types of advertisements and more need to be created and shown. To solve the smoking problem more anti-smoking campaigns need to be promoted through the media.

People who smoke cigarettes know what risks are. However smokers continue smoking a cigarette despite the health issue. Recently research shows link to smoking and cancer disease such as liver cancer and throat cancer. Everyone who smoke it know what’s consequences are. But smokers ignoring all hazards stand front them and effect there life. Youth usually gain smoke because they influenced by society (close to them) whatever it is health issue no considered at this age. We arguing about health issue but what about financial issue? Every year NHS spent millions of pound for smoke related diseases instead to give better treatment and research on new medicines. My question is what about adult and educated people smoking? They know there is no benefit out of it.

I strongly agree that all kind of cigarette should be ban and increase tax on it much as possible. I believe the government could do more problem is Tobacco company have with politician and big financial power. So they are not prohibited to advert. It seems the government have interest not to ban it. I think the anti smoke complainer should join with Hollywood actors and deliver the message though them.

My conclusion is tobacco future is does not going disappear on shelve of shops soon at least not in my generation. The government most budget huge amount of money for education, advert anti smoking and encourage people willing to stop smoking

It is scientificly proven that cigarettes contain an adictive substance therefore smoking is considered addiction.Nowaday despite several organisation such as (Anti Smoking Organisation)and (Quit Smoking Campaign)this addiction is still on the rise. However, it is not a mestery to understand the rapid spread of this, while there are many other companies which promot smoking for their comercial purposes.

It is disturbing to see scenes on TV where they promote smoking despite the danger of it on humans body, not to mention the negative impact on the younger generation. To watch cartoons in which the characters smoke is beyond tragic, as cartoons are supposed to send out a good message for children, not to teach them smoking. However, not always TV contributes this issue but also smoking parents, because sometimes children simply take after the grown ups around them.

the causes of smoking on human health are countless.Seficiant scientific evidence shows that there is a causal link between smoking and cancer and it causes people to age faster. Besides, it is harmful for pregnant women in a way that sometimes it makes the baby disfigured or at least makes them smaller than normal babies. Moreover, there is another negative face of smoking which can not be underestimated and it is wasting money.

In conclusion, to inhibit the growth of this addiction ,the government needs to educate people more about the danger caused by smoking and ban all the advertisements.Besides, people with this habit should take the step and quit smoking.the sooner they do the better as smoking is selfdestruction and a slowly death. Also parents should warn their children about the negativity with it.

Nicotine Addiction in Children
Nicotine addiction or (slowly suicide) is described as one of the nastiest catches, which lead the society to the margin of life. Always children are the first prey of adult’s trap, when they see their ideals smoke, they copy them without thinking or probing if they are right or erroneous, they want to show their presence that they have grown up and they are able to do what their parents or their models can do, they start to smoke in hidden from their parents and teachers at school.
People, who addicted to smoking, cannot stop it easily, even some of them do not want to take any act to get rid of this slayer which kills them gradually, and some of them do not want to rectify their blunders. There are numerous different techniques to censored smoking to commute smoking and make people to dispense of smoke. Governments constantly have their own persuasive policy and mechanism to put people on the right and straight path and pull them to step back of killing themselves by cigarettes. Advertisement has a huge role of attract and steal their eyes to encourage them to look for different kinds of cigarettes.
To recommend those addicted smokers quit smoking; increasing the price of cigarette is one of the best conducts to avoid this generation of this assassin, in addition, awareness from media about smoking and effects on each smoker. Another act should be taken is changing and using the advertisement against smoking by explaining and describing how is harmful to smoke and how is hard to stop it!

Nicotine Addiction in Children
In recently year’s nicotine addiction is most harmful drugs in human being according to national statistics particularly in UK. In my point of view, Advertising is highly contributed to boost number of smokers to the highest level in Europe. Hard to deny that we need to take further steps to stop smoking before it goes up.
PROBLEMS OF ADVERTISING
One of the problems of advertising is boost to attract large of number of children to encourage starting smoking who don’t have much knowledge about the harm of nicotine .Secondly releasing nicotine advertising in a telly and media by using celebrity’s images or role model people will lead the children to take it in to a good side. Moreover the addition in to highest proportion of nicotine in to nicotine things.
Solutions.
First solution, government should exercise to limit the proportion of tobacco added in to nicotine things because that is one bring to people addicted. Secondly we should to prohibit advertising issue to tackle the problems. Ultimately nicotine companies should point the risks and effect for their product and encourage to sellers not sell to the children younger than 20years old.
In my conclusion, this is real problem, which is necessary to tackle the problem in order to rise to higher number than this. The Government should impose strict rules and should punish if anyone break it.

These days, one of the addictive habits in daily life is smoking. The researches have shown that more teenagers were tending to smoke in the past twenty years ago. They concluded that the TV ads had the chief effect on cigarette consumption.

In my opinion, the advertisements should be forbidden because there is no reasonable answer for advertising the cigarettes which lead many health problems on human’s body. On the other hand, I personally think this factor has not the significant impact on purchasing cigarettes.

There are several reasons that more young people desired to consume nicotine twenty years ago .In the past, youth population mainly used to indulge in outdoor activities in comparison with modern life which everything has been improved and young people spend their time behind the computers monitors. As a result, the percentage of smokers has been decreased currently.

Another issue that needs to be considered is price. Tax rate is rising and the price of cigarettes is considerably increasing in these days. Two decade ago, people did not face the costly expenses for using cigarettes.

To conclude, it is inevitable that smoking cause the huge side effects on human’s life especially for young generation. In spite the fact that the TV is prohibited to show the uncensored advertisement about cigarettes, people are provoked to smoke and this habit might never stop.
