Nowadays, there is a lot of different food available in shops, but unfortunately I can not say, that it is more healthy than it was a decade ago.

Most of companies and farmers try to improve their products using genetic moderation, which in their point of view is the best way to offer customers perfect fruits and vegetables. Genetic engineering helps them to create nice-looking products, which keep fresh for longer than those from conventional crops.

There are those who say that, genetically moderated products are a good thing for our society and this kind of massive production is much easier to guarantee our generation enough food, because seeds are more stronger and resistance to weather conditions like heavy rains for example. However, many commentators are of the view that genetic engineering is a negative thing.

To be more precise, I would like to present few potential adverse effects of genetic engineering. The most common opinion is that genetically moderated food decreased nutritional value, because transgenic foods may mislead consumers with counterfeit freshness. As an example I will take a tomato, which from conventional crops is fresh for about a week and genetically moderated can be fresh for next two weeks or even longer, but is lacking in nutritions.

Moreover, genetic engineering uses material from organisms that have never been part of the human food supply to change the fundamental nature of the food we eat. Without long-term testing we do not have any guarantee if these foods are safe to consume and will it not harm our health.

In conclusion, I think that a decade ago food was much better and healthier. The good thing is that, we can choose between genetically moderated foods and a products from conventional crops. The only bad thing is healthy food unfortunately cost considerably more.

It has been known for some time now that a move towards an unhealthy feed way during the last ten years, it has been carried out for the human being totally unconsciously, sometimes it pushed for the evolution of the alimentary industry and development of the junk food or take-aways. What this means is nowadays we got more amount of obesity even children to be more precise the obesity rate has been up by 50% with respect ten years ago.

After all my personal view is that the human being should take advantage of the wide variety of food offered in the supermarkets or even streetmarkets, stop eating junk food and start being aware of his own health, equally important it is to take up any sport, instead spending too much time on the sofa watching television.

In conclusion, I believe parents should be held responsible of their sons and try to teach them healthy habits such as eating vegetables or jogging, afterwards, it would expect a life improvement consequently.

Nowadays, the supermarkets offer wide range of different food. In the last ten years there was a huge increase of convenience food. Some of them are healthy some are not. In the last decade food labelling has improved, you can read on the package what it in your food and where it is come from. But unfortunately I cannot say properly that the food has changed to better or worse.

I started to buy everyday in supermarkets about four years ago, when I moved out and started to live on my own. Since then, the food has not changed much. Otherwise, the labelling started to rise. The design of the food package changes, from now on there was much more information about the food on it: origin, transport, allergies, calories et cetera.

In the last decade the convenience food came in the supermarkets. Food that you can heat up in the microwave or even eat them straight out the package: Sandwiches, salads, pasta, stews and even Yorkshire puddings. Nowadays, it comes cheaper when you are buying a prepared food instead of cooking on yourself. Apart from that you also can buy fresh prepared fruits and vegetables.

In conclusion, I think the food has not changed much. Nowadays you still can buy the food like in the decade ago, but the convenience food is new. I believe convenience food is not healthy, because there are a lot of chemical or even genetically modified ingredients in. All the lazy people should not buy these prepared food anymore, instead of make an effort to cook your food on your own and even so more if you have children to feed!

Nowadays, there are several packaged foods with labels which inform customers about ingredients and nutrition, such as essential elements. To be more precise, healthy food results in preventing illness or mortality. For example, eating hygiene foods prevent infectious diseases.

In addition, scientists modify products genetically to raise production and to resist them against insects. In fact, increasing population, shortage of water and global warming result in producing genetic modify to decline poverty. However, regards to modify foods, there are considerably problems which are created by them. A good illustration of this is hormonal problem in children who eat steroids injected products. These products cause precautious probity or hirsute girls.

Moreover, modified crops could resist against their own diseases. Therefore, using pesticide could be decreased, although they lead to mutated insects which are stronger against currency pesticides and it is harmful for ecology and ecosystem.

The next point is taste of foods. I believe modify foods do not tasty as fresh food and it makes problem for children who hate vegetable and fresh food.

In conclusion, according to healthy food and raise population, produce genetic modify foods is inevitable. Under these circumstances labeled foods inform nutrition which are included in particular foods, although their problem often are ignored, such as health issue.

Nowadays, it is a broad range of food in food supermarkets for consumers to choose from. This has to do with the fact that genetic engineering rapidly progress every year and more often we can find genetically modified food in supermarkets such as potatoes, tomatoes, soybeans, corn, wheat which have more attractive colour and shape and longer retention cycle Other examples of genetically modified foods are cow’s high-fat milk, salmon and etc.

While scientists from all over the world dispute with each other about the advantages and disadvantages of genetically modified food, millions of people already devour this type of food offered in supermarkets on a daily basis. Uncontrollable consumption of bio-engineered food can make unpredictable consequences in the future. It will take several decades through a few generations of people who eat genetically modified food, to understand all risks of bio-engineered food usage.

On the one hand, one of genetic engineering purposes is to solve the world’s hunger and poverty problems, as it is no secret that the world population grows rapidly. Genetic engineering can change food production methods such as increasing production by having more food being produced in a smaller area using fewer resources but more and more people in the world could be amenable to allergy.

Meanwhile, the situation on the world market is different – supermarkets in the USA are full of cheep “Frankenstein’s food”, whereas Italian population eat natural food. In my point of view, government should balance foods that come out of genetic modification and from conventional crops in the country’s market thus do not put small farms out of business. This will let consumers have the ‘right of choice’ when making purchasing decisions, and this is where food labeling plays an important part when it comes to communicating with the consumer.

Food is an important part of our life, comparing with a decade ago a verity of food and ready meals have noticeably increased, but this doesn’t mean the quality has improved; on the contrary, this has had negative affect because quantity has been focused on instead of quality.
Ready meals are convenient and time saving especially for those hasn’t enough time to spend on cooking, but the way I see it, it has been facilitated up to the limit of exaggeration, for example: availability of boiled pasta or peeled fruit may reduce the nutritional value of the food itself.
By focusing on food labels which have been provided on food packages, in my opinion it is key to give the body the nutrition it needs and it helps to maintain the nutritional balance, for example it’s easier to go on a balanced diet without supervision of an expert by virtue of the information of products and the amount of allowed fat, sugar, salt, carbohydrates, calories and other nutrition information according to the daily guideline that’s obtainable on each package.
As I conclude, because the ready meals and processed food may be harmful for the long-term health due to the conservative and food additives they may contain, it’s more recommendable to minimize risk by reducing consumption them and alternatively exchanging them for more fresh products, meanwhile taking a close look at food labels is necessary to know what our body is getting and whether are they nourishing or not, after all you are what you eat.

Through the time, food has been very important to humans’ development and the way how our ancestors ate have been determinant in today’s life.

In the last ten years food has barely changed, what most changed is the life’s style so industry’s food has had to adapt itself to these busy times.

In the past, home was a woman matter; therefore she had to prepare food (among other things) looking fresh ingredients and cooking for hours. The resulted obtained of this arduous work was delicious dishes which were enjoyed for all family.

In this time, woman needs to work for the house’s economy and her time is limited as the man is. Then both woman and man need to distribute time also for food preparation so they have to come across of fast cooking, living long time cooking for special occasions only.

Food industry has realised about now necessities and has launched to the market products of easy preparation. The most of these products are freeze, which just need few minutes in microwave and it is ready to eat. This plate maybe is not like our mother tasty dish, but all the proteins will be there at least this is what the people in charge of food’s control says.

In my view, modern way of eat or fast foods is not causing health problems, what is really affecting us is sedentary life. In the past, people ate the same even more than nowadays but they have to walk: to go to school, to go work and to go everywhere, burning lot calories so they have no concerns about obesity or other modern diseases.
